Some text and laws for those interested in written evidence:
Mohammad was made victorious with terror (Bukhari Vol.4 Book 52 No. 220 and the Koran offers terror to others eg 8.12; 8.60; 3.151; 33.26-27; 59.2..). Islam kills those who don’t want to join and those who want to leave.
Koranic text (4.88, 4.89) threatens Muslims who have rejected their faith (unbelief/hypocrites) as distinct from non-believers/non-Muslims-Text tells us allah deliberately leads them to unbelief.
***Koran 4.88 (allah deliberately sends them to uunbelief)
Why should ye be divided into two parties about the Hypocrites? Allah hath upset them for their (evil) deeds. Would ye guide those whom Allah hath thrown out of the Way? For those whom Allah hath thrown out of the Way, never shalt thou find the Way.
***Koran 4.89 (kill them)
They but wish that ye should reject Faith, as they do, and thus be on the same footing (as they): But take not friends from their ranks until they flee in the way of Allah (From what is forbidden). But if they turn back, seize them and slay/kill them wherever ye find them; and (in any case) take no friends or helpers from their ranks;-
(Other koranic text continues the threat)
A clear demand to kill apostates in the hadith- examples from the most revered and authoritative Bukhari –
***Bukhari Volume 9, Book 83, Number 17: Narrated ‘Abdullah:
Allah’s Apostle said, “The blood of a Muslim who confesses that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and that I am His Apostle, cannot be shed except in three cases: In Qisas for murder, a married person who commits illegal sexual intercourse and the one who reverts from Islam (apostate) and leaves the Muslims.”
He repeated this third permission in many different ways: -shortened versions eg
***Bukhari Volume 4, Book 52, Number 260: ………….the Prophet said, ‘If somebody (a Muslim) discards his religion, kill him.’ “
***Bukhari Volume 9, Book 84, Number 57: Narrated ‘Ikrima: ………
I would have killed them according to the statement of Allah’s Apostle, ‘Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him.'”
***Bukhari Volume 9, Book 84, Number 64: Narrated ‘Ali: ………No doubt I heard Allah’s Apostle saying, “During the last days there will appear some young foolish people who will say the best words but their faith will not go beyond their throats (i.e. they will have no faith) and will go out from (leave) their religion as an arrow goes out of the game. So, where-ever you find them, kill them, for whoever kills them shall have reward on the Day of Resurrection.”
***Bukhari Volume 9, Book 89, Number 271: Narrated Abu Musa: ………
“He embraced Islam and then reverted back to Judaism.” Mu’adh said, “I will not sit down unless you kill him (as it is) the verdict of Allah and His Apostle
*** Bukhari Volume 9, Book 84, Number 58: Narrated Abu Burda: (long)
……….. Behold: There was a fettered man beside Abu Muisa. Mu’adh asked, “Who is this (man)?” Abu Muisa said, “He was a Jew and became a Muslim and then reverted back to Judaism.” Then Abu Muisa requested Mu’adh to sit down but Mu’adh said, “I will not sit down till he has been killed. This is the judgment of Allah and His Apostle (for such cases) and repeated it thrice. Then Abu Musa ordered that the man be killed, and he was killed. Abu Musa added, “Then we discussed the night prayers and one of us said, ‘I pray and sleep, and I hope that Allah will reward me for my sleep as well as for my prayers.'”
Also repeated in Bukhari Vol 5 Book 59 No. 632.
Other text tells of apostates being marched into hell fire..eg ***Bukhari Volume 8, Book 76, Number 587:
Mohammad kills apostates and the eight tribesmen who left Islam—Note the sheer sadism –if they were to be executed for murder or stealing it should have been done quickly—but they had left Islam!
***Bukhari Volume 9, Book 83, Number 37: Narrated Abu Qilaba: (long, only relevant section quoted)…
I said, “By Allah, Allah’s Apostle never killed anyone except in one of the following three situations: (1) A person who killed somebody unjustly, was killed (in Qisas,) (2) a married person who committed illegal sexual intercourse and (3) a man who fought against Allah and His Apostle and deserted Islam and became an apostate.” Then the people said, “Didn’t Anas bin Malik narrate that Allah’s Apostle cut off the hands of the thieves, branded their eyes and then, threw them in the sun?” I said, “I shall tell you the narration of Anas. Anas said: “Eight persons from the tribe of ‘Ukl came to Allah’s Apostle and gave the Pledge of allegiance for Islam (became Muslim). The climate of the place (Medina) did not suit them, so they became sick and complained about that to Allah’s Apostle. He said (to them ), “Won’t you go out with the shepherd of our camels and drink of the camels’ milk and urine (as medicine)?” They said, “Yes.” So they went out and drank the camels’ milk and urine, and after they became healthy, they killed the shepherd of Allah’s Apostle and took away all the camels. This news reached Allah’s Apostle, so he sent (men) to follow their traces and they were captured and brought (to the Prophet). He then ordered to cut their hands and feet, and their eyes were branded with heated pieces of iron, and then he threw them in the sun till they died.” I said, “What can be worse than what those people did? They deserted Islam, committed murder and theft.” …..the text continues..
***Bukhari Volume 4, Book 52, Number 261
Eight men of the tribe of ‘Ukil came to the Prophet and then they found the climate of Medina unsuitable for them. So, they said, “O Allah’s Apostle! Provide us with some milk.” Allah’s Apostle said, “I recommend that you should join the herd of camels.” So they went and drank the urine and the milk of the camels (as a medicine) till they became healthy and fat. Then they killed the shepherd and drove away the camels, and they became unbelievers after they were Muslims. When the Prophet was informed by a shouter for help, he sent some men in their pursuit, and before the sun rose high, they were brought, and he had their hands and feet cut off. Then he ordered for nails, which were heated and passed over their eyes, and they were left in the Harra (i.e. rocky land in Medina). They asked for water, and nobody provided them with water till they died.
The story of the 8 tribesmen is often recounted (it’s important!!!) with additions such as not giving them water to drink, not cauterizing their wounds and gouging their eyes eg Bukhari– -Vol 1, Book 4, No. 234; Vol 5, Book 59, No. 505; Vol 7, Book 71, No. 623; Vol 8, Book 82, No. 794; Vol 8, Book 82, No. 796; Vol 8, Book 82, No. 797;
Muslim hadiths— Book 16, No. 4131; Book 16, No. 4132; Book 16, No. 4134, 4135, 4136, 4137………
Their apostasy is always noted and sometimes also they ‘ fought against allah and his apostle’ although the men simply tried to run away! Rejecting Islam is considered ‘fighting allah and his apostle and was intolerable to Mohammad, hence the SADISM!”
Laws saying KILL apostates!:
Reliance of the Traveller: a classic manual of Islamic sacred law: (Shafi’i)
No compensation must be paid for killing an apostate-(pages 595, 596) Note: compensation or expiation is only for killing someone unlawful to kill!
*Law f1.3. (p 109). Someone raised among Muslims who denies the obligatoriness of prayer , zakat, fasting Ramadan, the pilgrimage, or the unlawfulness of wine and adultery, or denies something else upon which there is scholarly consensus and which is necessarily known as being of the religion, thereby becomes an unbeliever (kafir) and is executed for his belief.
*Law O8.1 (p 595). When a person has reached puberty and is sane voluntarily apostatizes, he deserves to be killed.
*Laws (O8.2, 8.3) Ideally the caliph’s or his representatives should kill him but, if someone else kills him (there are no caliphs today!!) the killer is disciplined (O: for arrogating the caliph’s rights, as this is one of his duties)!!
Other laws simply say the apostate must be killed- by anyone. No retaliation allowed for killing an apostate!
*Law O8.4 (p 596) There is no indemnity for killing an apostate (O:or any expiation, since it is killing someone who deserves to die)
*Law O5.4 (p 593). There is no expiation for killing someone who has left Islam…… even when someone besides the caliph kills him.
*Law O4.17 (p 593) There is no indemnity obligatory for killing a non-Muslim at war with muslims (harbi); someone who has left Islam; someone sentenced to death by stoning.
*Law O1.2 (p 583) the following are NOT subject to retaliation-………..[2) A MUSLIM for KILLING a NON-MUSLIM!!!]
3) a Jewish or Christian subject of the Islamic state for killing an apostate from Islam (killing an apostate is without consequences!)
[4) A FATHER or MOTHER (or their fathers or mothers) for KILLING THEIR OFFSPRING or OFFSPRING’S OFFSPRING!!! (p 584)!!!!!—honour killing?]
*Law e12.8 (p 87) …….unworthy includes non-Muslims at war with Muslims, apostates from Islam, convicted married adulterers, pigs, and biting dogs.
Killing apostates is practised everywhere there are Muslims including the west!
“The punishment by death in the case of apostasy has been unanimously agreed upon by all four schools of Islamic jurisprudence” (AbdurRahman I Doi, ‘Sharia: the Islamic Law,’ London 1984)
I also have copies of laws from the Hanafi school of law, (al-Hedaya) eg it is lawful to kill an apostate without making any attempt to recover him from his apostasy.
And the Maliki school of law (al-Risala) –‘ He is allowed three days grace; if he fails to utilise the chance to repent, the execution takes place. This same also applies to women apostates…. The property of an apostate after his execution is to be shared by the Muslim community.
The whole world must stand AGAINST sharia –apostasy is only one of the evil laws sharia contains, there are many more!

Text and laws:
a) Reliance of the Traveller: A classic manual of Islamic sacred law. In Arabic with facing English Text, commentary and appendices edited and translated by Nuh Ha Mim Keller Al-Misri, Ahmad ibn Naqib; Amana publications Maryland USA 1994.
Has a lot of text though ‘diluted’ for western consumption with missing sections. Note translations and numbering particularly numbering of hadiths can vary considerably. Bukhari is more consistently numbered than other hadith sets.
